As an agency, your quotes are constantly being compared to the competition. If you want to be chosen every single time, consider no-code development.

If you’re reading this, chances are you run a web design/development company.

When a business approaches you looking for a new website, they’re typically comparing your agency with a couple of others. Their main 3 decision-making factors are your price, timeline and quality of the project. In this article, we’re going to talk about why your company will lose to no-code agencies on these 2 factors every single time.

Reason 1: Price

When scoping out a web project, most companies (including ours) use an estimated amount of hours to determine their price. As you know, the time it takes to hand-code a website is significant, and therefore the price has to match. When a company approaches you with very specific requirements (for example, they want a site built on a specific CMS), they understand exactly what they’re getting into, and they will understand the reason for the hours. However, when a company only knows the end-product they’re looking for (ex. An eCommerce site to sell their products), the platform something is being built on means absolutely nothing.

Let’s pretend you’re a company looking to hire an agency. Your shortlist has taken you down to two agencies - both have excellent portfolios. Agency 1 has given you a price of $15,000 to build your website with all features included. Agency 2 has given you a price of $26,000 to build the same website. Which one would you choose?

Reason 2: Timeline

As you’ve likely seen before, lots of businesses are in a rush to launch their website - even if they aren’t, they wouldn’t mind having it ready to go sooner than later.

That’s where no-code comes in.

Similar to the point about price, creating a project on a platform like Webflow takes far less time than hand-coding it - and therefore, you can deliver projects to your clients in a fraction of the time. Let’s expand on that example we mentioned earlier regarding the two quotes. Agency 1 has given you a price of $15,000 to build your website with all features included. They have stated the project will be done in 3 weeks. Agency 2 has given you a price of $26,000 to build the same website. They have stated the project will be done in 6 weeks. As you can see, the choice is becoming more obvious now.

Reason 3: Quality

This point is a huge bonus. The best clients aren’t only looking for a good deal and fast turnaround. They want quality. That being said, time equals money, and both equal quality when it comes to websites. Now that your quote is a significantly lower amount than the competition, you can bump up the price a bit, and reinvest that budget into the project. Now let’s take a look at that quote example one last time. Agency 1 has given you a price of $19,000 to build your website with all features included, along with 3 additional features that you didn’t even know you wanted. They have stated the project will be done in 4 weeks. Agency 2 has given you a price of $26,000 to build a website with only the requested features. They have stated the project will be done in 6 weeks. Is it even a choice at this point?

What is the best way to get my agency started in no-code development?

Here’s the thing - no-code tools (like Webflow) aren’t just something anyone can pick up and create a great website with. It’s a skill that takes years and years to become good at, and you will need an expert no-code developer on your team if you’d like to deliver quality projects to your clients. The primary issue we’ve found (and luckily, solved) when it comes to scaling up our no-code operations is the lack of talented Webflow Developers available for hire. If you’d like to get your agency started in no-code development quickly without any growing pains, the best way to do that would be to work with a good white label agency. By doing that, you can harness all the benefits of selling no-code websites to your clients, without having to worry about sourcing talent, project management, or anything that comes with offering a new service.

At Veza Digital, we specialize in offering our professional no-code services to agencies and their clients, so if you’ve got a sizzling lead who needs a website, give us a call!

In Conclusion

No-code isn’t a replacement for traditional development. We frequently turn clients away from no-code development if their project isn’t a good fit, however, if someone needs a simple business website (or even complex web apps in many cases - we’ve build plenty of those using only no-code tools), then no-code is the only way to stay competitive in the current agency landscape.
